Boiler packed up on a Friday evening in January. Called First Call and an engineer was with me within two hours. Sorted the problem quickly, explained everything clearly, and the price was very reasonable. Brilliant service.

Boiler stopped working mid-January. Called First Call at 8am and by 11am the engineer had diagnosed a faulty PCB, ordered the part, and returned to fit it the following morning. Quick, efficient, and very reasonably priced.

First Call serviced and repaired my ageing boiler when every other company wanted to replace it. Engineer was honest - said it had a couple of years left in it if properly maintained. That saved me thousands. Rare integrity in the trade.

Your boiler repair questions, answered
How much does a boiler repair cost in Coventry?
£120 fixed price. That covers a one-hour inspection visit from a Gas Safe engineer, and if the fault can be fixed without parts within that hour, it is all you pay. If parts or more time are needed, we give you a fixed price before any work starts.
What do I get in the one-hour visit?
A Gas Safe engineer inspects your boiler, flue and controls, finds the fault and explains it in plain English. If it can be fixed without parts, it is fixed there and then. If not, you get a fixed price for the repair and honest advice on whether repair or replacement makes more sense.
Is there a call-out fee?
No. There is no call-out fee. The £120 covers the engineer visit, the one-hour inspection and diagnosis, and any repair that needs no parts within that hour.
What if my boiler needs parts?
We give you a fixed, no-obligation price for the parts and labour before any work starts. Our engineers carry common parts for popular makes, so many repairs are finished on the same visit. If a part has to be ordered, we book you back in as soon as it arrives.
Will you fix my boiler on the first visit?
Most common faults are fixed on the first visit, either within the one-hour inspection or straight after it using parts from the van. Where a part has to be ordered, we tell you straight away.
Why has my boiler stopped working?
The most common causes are low pressure, a frozen condensate pipe, a failed thermostat or diverter valve, and ignition faults. We diagnose the root cause before recommending a repair, so you only pay for the fix that is needed.
Is it worth repairing an old boiler?
If your boiler is under 10 years old, repair is usually the cost-effective choice. For boilers over 15 years old, or where the repair would cost more than half the price of a new boiler, replacement often saves money in the long run. We give you both options and never push a new boiler you do not need.
What should I do before I call?
Check the boiler pressure gauge, the thermostat and programmer settings and that the boiler has power. Note any error code on the display. Never remove the boiler casing yourself. If you smell gas, turn the supply off at the meter, open the windows and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.
How quickly can you come out in Coventry?
Call 02476 950 595 and we aim to get an engineer to you the same day. Our emergency line is open 24/7, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Which boilers do you repair?
All major makes including Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Baxi, Ideal, Viessmann, Potterton, Glow-worm and Ariston. We repair combi, system and regular gas boilers.
Do you repair landlord and rental boilers?
Yes. We repair boilers for homeowners and landlords, and for tenants with the landlord permission. We can issue a CP12 landlord gas safety record on the same visit, from £50.
Are your engineers Gas Safe registered?
Yes. Our Gas Safe registration number is 564807 and you can verify it at GasSafeRegister.co.uk before we arrive. Always ask to see the engineer Gas Safe ID card before any gas work begins.
